Nothing too big to note since my last update. Working to deck out my SAM just a bit with anything I can get solo, trying to get BST to 37 and DRG to 20, and continuing to level my NPC (Currently level 47) for NM-soloing purposes.

Well, was looking into HNMs I can solo after PM folded, and the one that drops something I could really use is King Arthro, so I've been camping him when his window was convenient. Luckily, this week his window has overlapped with king windows so the competition was light. Timed my claim almost perfectly Monday night but got beaten by a JP duo. Tuesday night, even less competition and I got claim.

Took a few breaks for RL reasons, came back to an officially dead endgame LS. Much as I'd like to vent about the past two years of PanicMotion's existence, what's the point? Everyone knows if I have an issue with them, most people are in the kind of LS they wanted all along, and I was never as upset about any of it as I probably should've been anyway.
Anyway, with nothing to camp, I've done little but craft:

1/22/09. In a move that shocks the entire FFXI community--no matter where they stood on the issue--Square-Enix immediately suspends or bans nearly 1000 pillars of the endgame community for having used a simple programming glitch to duplicate drops in certain endgame areas several months earlier. Many of the premiere linkshells are decimated, and some of the most well-respected, knowledgeable players are instantly gone. The endgame community has been dealt a crippling blow, and many of those hardest-hit firmly believe that this spells the end of FFXI altogether.

Went from parrying 260 to 269 in about a week and a half of soloing Marids for 2-4 hours a day. There are faster ways to do it, but this is decent experience, it keeps you interested, and it's solid gil if the tusks are actually selling (And pays for tools if you NPC them).
And then I broke out of my streak of shitty crafting luck in a big way:

Just a quick teaser. Achamoth finally decided to drop an Organics for me, and I've had a chance to try it out in merit parties, Einherjar, and just general screwing around. It's frankly amazing to me that conventional wisdom holds that Organics is nothing more than a good-looking toy. I plan to parse this definitively, because my early impressions are that Organics/Ridill can hang with any non-relic DD, while saving you the trouble of sinking 8 combat merits into Axe skill as Maneater/Ridill requires.

Popped two of our Sarameyas Wednesday. Ridiculously squishy mob (Landed a 340 crit and only later realized I hadn't used Velocity Shot that whole fight). First: Oracle's Robe, Pachipachio. Second: Aurum Armet and Sarameya's Hide. 2/3 on a PW pop already, so keep up the complaining and let's get him fixed.
Anyway, I bought the two Cerberus Hides and:
I'm now sitting at 3/10 on Cerberus Mantle +1, to go with my 1/10 Dusk Gloves +1 and 1/4 Dusk Ledelsens +1. Leathercraft needs some more premium synths, because I seem to be the luckiest son of a bitch on the planet when it comes to this stuff.

I'm going to take a break from my regularly-scheduled complaining about FFXI to rave about something that Square did a wonderful job on: The ZNM system. Pop items can be farmed solo or in small groups 24/7 with essentially zero competition, the fights are the appropriate length and difficulty, and while most of the gear isn't great, it's appropriate for the challenge of the fights and they threw in a handful of endgame-worthy items in the middle tiers. Yeah, it appears that they screwed it all up at the end by dangling another unkillable carrot in front of our noses, but for the lower tiers this system is probably my favorite part of the game. Consequently, it's taken up a ton of my time lately.

Upon returning from my break, I was pleased to see that the dev team had taken some measures to make Cerberus Hides a little easier to get your hands on. I ended up camping the AH for the Hides and was 0/3 as of this morning. And then:

- Willing to sell your gear to fund a linkshell leader's relic, only to have him bolt the server literally within days, leaving you looking like a sucker?
- Looking to abandon your fledgling endgame linkshell and take the shortcut to the bottom of the barrel?
- Are you a hypocrite who recently quit said LS because you "couldn't deal with the leaders' bullshit any longer?"
- Does roughly 20% of the server population say about you, "He keeps sending me tells. He seems to think we're still friends and I don't have the heart to tell him I think he's an asshole."
If you can answer "Yes" to any of these questions (Or you happen to be a BLM75 wandering around Jeuno during one of their recruiting sprees) contact whoever's in charge of DreamersLS currently for a pearl. It'll be the guy with access to the treasury and a bookmark folder full of HNMLSes on other servers that don't do background checks.

Leathercraft 99. I'm now trying for some Dusk Ledelsens and waiting for people to stop trying to drive the price of H.Q. Hides back up. But that's not worth a new update. I'll get back to posting the thrilling details of me crafting hundreds of Panther Masks very soon, but for now here is the old standard, HNM camps:

One of my goals in this game has just been accomplished, and to celebrate, here is the little bit of data I have to date regarding Dusk Gloves synths. I plan to continue tracking my tier 0 data until I get a statistically significant pool of data, though I doubt that I will do so with Dusk Gloves, as it seems that many, if not most, of the players interested in HQ Dusk Gloves have leveled leathercraft like I did.

Much as I would like this LJ to eventually move away from LS accomplishments and more into personal in-game accomplishments, research, and strategy, circumstances have been conspiring against me. Basically, I haven't been doing anything outside of LS events for the past month. I got SAM to 37, but I didn't think to take any pictures of myself using experience scroll after experience scroll to get there. Maybe some day I'll do a quick walkthrough of how to get the scrolls quickly and efficiently, as I know a lot of people don't bother with it, but for now what I've got are pictures of all the shit PanicMotion has killed over the past month. Well, it's been fairly busy since my last update. For starters, I changed my mind on SAM and decided to level DRK first. I figured I would rather have a non-RNG zerg job for Dynamis Lord and potentially CoP wyrms than just another DD. The bigger reason: DRK was already 37 and I wouldn't have to grind through the godforsaken jungles on my low-20s SAM. I've been catching SAM up on exp scrolls and Besieged as I level DRK and I figure I can keep up with my DRK's subjob levels this way as long as I don't go crazy about getting DRK to 75 (Now: 53) immediately.

Just a quick, pictureless update on my loot-whoring since my last entry: Koga Tekko +1, Koga Hakama (Now I just need to waste some points on Dryadic abjurations and gil on the cursed items to make my Shinobi Ring merit setup work), and Trotter Boots. Not much else to note. PM has been less active, and I have been less active in PM. We picked up some more capes in sea and some more Bv2 drops, and not a whole lot else. Most of my time has been spent leveling leathercraft (Got to 91+3 and decided to take a break to level subcrafts when, after a few attempts, someone finally managed to manipulate the Wyvern Skin market). I got WHM and BLM to 37 via exp scrolls and Besieged, have THF on the verge, and am getting RDM to level 20 via worm-nuking so that I can start using scrolls on it in a week or two.

You guys still think I was out of line for stating that FFXIApp use was rampant in your LS? Funniest bit is that the WHM/DRK who was blatantly Stun-botting is one of the people who actually ponied up the dough for a registered version to land on this list (As opposed to the dozens of others using hacked versions who have not yet been exposed). If it's any consolation, this list doesn't own you nearly as hard as AG (2/3s of which shows up here, on their previous server, or with an unknown server).
